People ask me why I “waste” an entire summer doing nothing but spinning for about 14 hours a day ever day in the dead heat. To them they think I’m crazy. To me it’s as simple as saying. It’s an addiction. It’s a love unmatched. It’s a place of belonging. I like the feeling of getting better and growing every single day. The feeling of meeting people who are just as passionate as you are and being able to endure the blood, the sweat, the tears, the good and the bad with them. Knowing that somewhere whether it be podunk, Iowa or Indy at finals we are inspiring the youth to want to do the thing we love the most. To be the personal best they can grow and achieve. But most of all. To be able to feel like I have accomplished more than I ever dreamed of in just a few short months. No matter where you march or where you come from you can achieve dreams like I have. You can do whatever you set your mind to. It’s not going to be easy….it never is but in the end….your hard work and perseverance will truly be crowned. This weekend means more than an audition to me. It’s the last chance I have to be with the people I love, being taught by an exceptional staff, and inspiring the marching arts youth of today. This weekend marks the beginning of the end. And though I won’t dwell on it, it makes me sadder than all hell. But I have a goal and a mission and I will stop at nothing to be the best I can ultimately be. I can’t wait to be at home once again with my Colorguard family. And no matter where you’re auditioning this summer just remember to….Do it up! #fco50 #bluestars @bluestarsdbc
